Peter de Smet

Of all the major Dutch comic strip artists of the past 25 years, award winning artist Peter de Smet probably has had the largest influence on aspiring artists.

His clear style, but even more his subtle, dry sense of humor have proven to be timeless.
The first pages of The General were an instant success and through many beautiful series like Joris P.K., Viva Zapapa, Lodewijk, De Meester and Otto, Olivier and Oscar he has grown to become one of the most admired artists of the Dutch comic strip.
His work is represented by us exclusively. Some works from the different series are for sale. A collection of Dutch strip artists without Peter de Smet is incomplete.

On january 6th this great artist died of pneumonia in the hospital among his family.
